A Clear Path to Care — With Someone by Your Side the Entire Way

When a child receives an autism diagnosis, families often feel overwhelmed, unsure of what to do next, and emotionally exhausted.

At Guidepost ABA, we believe accessing ABA therapy should feel clear, supported, and compassionate — not confusing.

How Our ABA Therapy Process Works

  • Submit the Intake Form
Families or referring providers complete our simple intake form online.

    We collect basic information about:

    1. The child’s autism diagnosis
    2. Insurance coverage (BCBS TX or Aetna)
    3. Parent/guardian contact information
    4. Referral documentation (if available)

Once submitted, our team reaches out promptly.
  • Initial Intake Call with Your Dedicated Care Coordinator
Within a short time, one of our compassionate care coordinators contacts the family.

    During this call, we:
    Learn about the child’s needs
    Answer questions about ABA therapy
    Review the diagnosis and referral
    Explain the full process clearly
    Provide emotional reassurance and guidance

From this point forward, this coordinator stays with the family throughout treatment. They are not passed from person to person.
  • Insurance Verification (We Handle It for You)
Our team directly contacts the insurance provider to verify:

    Eligibility
    Co-pays
    Deductibles
    Maximum out-of-pocket costs
    ABA therapy benefits

    We currently work with:

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBS TX)
    Aetna

Families receive a clear breakdown of coverage so there are no surprises.
  • Assessment Authorization
Once insurance benefits are confirmed, we request authorization for the ABA assessment.

    We manage:

    Submission of required documentation
    Coordination with the insurance company
    Follow-ups to prevent delays

Families are kept informed throughout the process.
  • Schedule the ABA Assessment
After authorization is approved, we schedule the child’s comprehensive ABA assessment.

    During this assessment:

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) evaluates the child’s skills and needs
    Goals are identified
A personalized treatment plan is developed

The assessment focuses on communication, behavior, daily living skills, and social development.
  • Treatment Authorization
We submit the individualized treatment plan to insurance for therapy authorization.

    Again, our team manages:
    Documentation
    Insurance communication
    Approval tracking

Families are supported at every stage.
  • Schedule ABA Therapy & Begin Treatment
    Once treatment is authorized:
    Therapy sessions are scheduled
    Families meet their clinical team
    Services begin

Your dedicated coordinator remains available throughout treatment for:

    Ongoing support
    Scheduling updates
    Insurance questions
    Care coordination

You are never navigating this alone.
